ARRIS and OpenTV Offer Turnkey Digital Television Advertisement Solution for European Market
--"Ad Insertion in a Box" Allows Operators to Rapidly Introduce Digital Advertising Services with Minimum Risk and Immediate Revenue
SUWANEE, Ga., May 26, 2009 /PRNewswire-FirstCall via COMTEX/ -- ARRIS (Nasdaq: ARRS) and OpenTV (Nasdaq: OPTV) today announced a turnkey digital advertising offering for cable and telecommunications operators looking to revenues from advanced digital advertising services to effectively generate advertising revenues with a minimum of risk. This turnkey solution supports the advertising sales, insertion, reporting, campaign management, and related functions necessary for ad sales operations and is targeted initially at Europe where local ad sales opportunities are gaining momentum. The solution pairs the ARRIS ConvergeMedia(TM) SkyVision(TM) Advertising applications suite and OpenTV's Eclipse(R) Campaign Management product to provide a world-class end-to-end Digital Program Insertion (DPI) advertising system.

The "Ad Insertion-in-a-Box" solution includes digital splicers, campaign management systems, cue management and encoding/transcoding, installation services and 7x24x365 technical assistance to support cable operators in preparing their systems for advertising capabilities.

ARRIS has integrated the flagship SkyVision Advertising solution with the components required to introduce an advertising system, with reduced operational expenses, and in a risk managed and assisted solution within a short timeframe. Date, time and currency functions can be easily customized for the local market, and as advertising operations mature, operators can migrate to the EclipsePlus(TM) solution which is designed to manage larger scale operations.
